How to Setup an HP Laser Jet Series Printer as your Audit Trail Printer

For this procedure, it is highly recommended that you have your printer's owner's manual available for reference.  In addition, you may need to obtain assistance with your in-house IS staff.

• Select System Configuration from the Main Menu.

• Select Line Printer from the System Configuration Menu.

• Select Edit A Printer Configuration.

• Scroll up and select Audit Trail Printer, then press Enter.

• On the Portrait section (#1): Change Number of Lines/Page to 54.

• Depress the PageDown key to return to your selection tabs.
• Next select the Escape Codes I.  You need only change the following items to:

• Standard 10 cpi portrait : ~(10U~(s0p10.00h12.0v0s0b3T

NOTE: Some printers do not perform well being reset on each line.  If you are getting a new audit trail page for each transaction entered, you will have to remove the ~E command(s).

• Compressed Mode - 15 chars/inch: On ~&l0O~&l7.27c66F~(10U~(s0p16.66h8.5v0s0b0T
  Compressed Mode: Off ~&l0O~&l7.27c66F~(10U~(s0p10h12v0s0b3T
   
• Press the PageDown key to save your work and return to the tab menu.

• Next, skip to the Escape Codes III section.  Change the following items to:

• Cancel All Text In Print Buffer: ~E
  
• Italic Mode: On ~(s1S
  Italic Mode: Off ~)s0S
   
• Wide Carriage Printing - 16.6 chars/inch (Landscape For Lasers):
  On: ~&l1O~&l7.27c45F~(10U~(s0p16.67h8.5v0s0b0T
  Off: ~&l1O~&l7.27c45F~(10U~(s0p10h12v0s0b3T

• Audit Printer Setup:  CAUTION - THE FOLLOWING FIELDS SCROLL RIGHT!

15.00 cpi On: ~&l0O~&l7.27c66F~(10U~(s0p16.66h8.5v0s0b0T
15.00 cpi Off: ~&l0O~&l7.27c66F~(10U~(s0p10h12v0s0b3T
10 cpi On: ~E~(10U~(s0p10.00h12.0v0s0b3T

• Press the PageDown key to save.

• Restart FM2 to ensure your changes will take effect.
