Vehicle
Types
The Vehicle Type is to be used for setting up vehicle weights and the corresponding state mileage tax rates. It is used for vehicles that do not fall under the tax default category of 80,000 pounds. Assigning your vehicle to a Vehicle Type weight heavier than your vehicle correct weight type will increase your tax. Inversely assigning your vehicle to a Weight Type less than the correct vehicle weight type will result in tax underpayment. As road use taxes are calculated on vehicle weight, it is critical that you assign your units correctly. For most users running a standard 80K tractor you will want to assign the USE MILE TAX DEFAULT rate definition.
