Exclusive Electronic Service for theOwner-Operator Welcome to the new home of FM2 Fuel & Mile Tax Management SOFTWARE HISTORY: FM2 was created in early 1997 to replace aging non-Y2K compliant software. Its original logic design was based on several existing systems and was enhanced with new procedures and reporting to both expedite and smooth the in-office reporting processes. FM2's hardware requiements were to be simple and undemanding on any pentium class computer. In addition, it was decided that a minimum of diskspace should be used for its program files and that it could not be reliant upon any desktop or multi-tasking software to run. FM2 needed to be able to operate from a fail-safe bootdisk if necessary. Of course, the diskspace limitation has changed dramatically in the last few years with the advent of the 'giga-byte' hard drives we have all become highly accustomed to. Download the Logon! brochure or Report Samples! requires Acrobat Reader below Some of the major enhancements included combined client fleet reporting, user security management, individual workstation configurations, generic IFTA return form creation using client data and most importantly, the addition of dynamic taxation. (tax calcualtions based upon rate effective date) In addition, FM2 was designed with future (inter)network use in mind. The two major networking platforms of NT and Novell were considered and tested throughout the programming, debugging and implementation stages of its development. Most recently, FM2 was enhanced in late 2000 to run as a telnet application over the internet. Now referred to as NetFM2, FM2, has evolved into a stable and powerful program that manages and reports fuel/mile tax data. It is not a cross-over program that attempts to manage logs, vendors, receivables, expenditures or any other facet of a trucking business. NetFM2 is a specific program meant to satisfy very specific needs.
